Here’s the instructions on how to get started on this website (from Raymond) on 4/5/2013:

DROYL Instructor Profile Update Instructions

To update your profile as an instructor:

  1. Inside the original email are a username, an email, and a link.
  2. Click on the link
  3. Upon following the link, you will find a login form
  4. Enter the Username and password given in the email
  5. Click login
  6. You will be taken to the profile page. Scroll through this page and enter the information you choose to. You will also have the option to change your password, and it is recommended that you do so.

Now that you have a username, you can create a website

  1. After logging into your account, head back to
  2. Head to Instructor Registration page located in the menu
  3. The site name is the url that users will enter to find your site. Try and make it short and memorable.
  4. The site title is the big headline that everyone will see upon visiting your site. Try for something fun, but descriptive. For example: “Tango with Mr. and Mrs. Smith”
  5. Make sure the privacy setting is set to Yes
  6. Click “Create Site”
  7. Follow the link you are given.
  8. Congratulations, you now have your own site. You should be logged in right away, but if you aren’t, then add /wp-admin to the end of the url, then enter your username and password to log in.

Now that you have a website, it’s time to create some dance/classes so that droyl visitors can find you. To do so:

  1. Go to your website and log in.
  2. Adding /Wp-admin to the end of the url will now take you to the dashboard. On the left hand side of the screen is a menu. Find “My Classes” and hover over it.
  3. Click “Add New” on the menu that appears
  4. Now you have a few things to enter
    1. The title should include your name, and the type of lesson it is. For example: “John Doe’s Waltz”
    2. The content under that should have a brief description of the class, the time it takes place, and any additional direction information (for example, room number)
    3. Underneath the content is a box for the placemark address. Anything that works in Google Maps will work here, but you have to make sure you enter something. Otherwise your class will not appear on the map.
  5. With all the info added click Publish in the top right.
  6. You’re done! If you want to make sure you were added to the map:
    1. Go to the main droyl site
    2. Click the “Find an Instructor” button
    3. Find yourself on the map! You can use the search bar at the top if you need to.
    4. If you can’t find your class, go back to your site’s dashboard and click the My Classes button. This will take you to a page that shows all the classes you have made. Find the one that isn’t displaying on the map and double check that you have an address entered. If the problem persists, contact us and we’ll help you figure it out.

Again, I apologize for any of the confusion this must have caused. There will be more training on this site in the future communications.  If you did not receive the aforementioned email, please go to to register.
